Set in the beautiful remote village of Scarista, on the Island of Harris in the Outer Hebrides, we have two turf roofed, self catering, luxury cottages, each with its own sauna and Jacuzzi, for the ideal romantic Hebridean retreat.  Each cottage has spectaular views of the Atlantic Ocean and local beaches and are totally private from each other.

GREEN TOURISM:

At Blue Reef cottages we are committed to conserving our island's natural resources. We are therefore delighted to have achieved the Gold Award from the Green Business Tourism Scheme. As members of the scheme we encourage our guests to recycle and use local products. Eco and fairtrade products are available in the cottages. Walking and cycling is also encouraged as is the use of local transport. Comprehensive nature diaries tell of other frequent visitors to Scarista, i.e eagles, buzzards, starlings, seals,otters, rabbits, plovers are just a few.

Carbon offsetting:

We are currently in the process of planting 3,500 trees to offset our carbon footprint.
